Launching a Comprehensive Support Project for IDPs

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the team of NGO “Unique Country”, together with Acted Ukraine, has been supporting people affected by the war. During this time, we have helped families facing difficult circumstances by providing them with essentials: hygiene items, food products, blankets, warm clothing and heaters.

This support was important not only as material assistance. For many people, it also meant that there were those nearby who saw their situation, responded to their needs and helped them get through a difficult period with a greater sense of support.

A new stage of support in the Zhmerynka community

At the beginning of September, we are launching a project to provide comprehensive support to people affected by the war and living in the Zhmerynka community. This time, thanks to our partnership with Acted Ukraine, we will be able to provide different types of assistance to those who need it.

The project includes both basic humanitarian support and activities aimed at psychosocial recovery, support for children and access to legal information.

What the project includes

Within the project, we plan to provide assistance that responds to the basic needs of people affected by the war. The main areas of support include:

• food products;
• hygiene items;
• household chemicals;
• dishes;
• bed linen;
• psychosocial support activities;
• an art studio for children;
• the opportunity to receive a legal consultation.

This approach makes it possible to respond to different needs: from household and material needs to emotional, social and legal support.

Why this matters

People affected by the war often face several challenges at the same time: loss of stability, change of residence, financial uncertainty, emotional exhaustion, the need for information and support for children.

That is why comprehensive assistance is especially important. It is not limited to distributing goods — it helps create greater safety, predictability and support in everyday life.

For NGO “Unique Country”, this project continues our work to support people and communities living through the consequences of the war. We want people to have access to the necessary resources, professional support and a space where their needs are seen and heard.
