Active Citizens Training in Bar

From February 9 to 11, NGO “Unique Country” organized a training at Bar Humanitarian and Pedagogical College within the “Active Citizens” programme of the British Council in Ukraine.

The training brought together college students who want to better understand the needs of their community, participate in its development and implement useful social initiatives.

What the training was about

Over three days, participants worked with the topics of civic participation, community needs assessment and the basics of project management. They learned how to analyse local problems, look for possible solutions, formulate ideas for social projects and plan the first steps toward their implementation.

Special attention was given to teamwork, responsible interaction and understanding how young people can influence positive change in their own environment.

Learning outcomes

The result of the three-day training was a set of social projects developed by participants in teams. These initiatives will be submitted to the Social Action Project competition organized by the British Council within the “Active Citizens” programme.

For NGO “Unique Country”, such educational events are an important part of our work to develop civic engagement, youth leadership and practical skills for participation in community life.
