Follow the Money!

On July 29, the head of NGO “Unique Country”, Andrii Silchenko, held a meeting with the Public Council under the Zhmerynka City Council.

During the meeting, he spoke about the system of public funding for political parties and presented a project for monitoring the election funds of political parties — “Follow the Money”.

Why the project is needed

The “Follow the Money” project is aimed at strengthening communities’ ability to monitor the spending of political parties and candidates on election advertising.

The idea behind the project is to involve citizens in monitoring election expenditures, raise awareness of political finance, and help communities better understand how money influences the electoral process.

Public oversight at the local level

The project includes forums and trainings for local activists, as well as creative tools for engaging citizens in monitoring the spending of political parties and candidates.

For NGO “Unique Country”, participation in such initiatives is part of our work to develop civic education, transparency, democratic participation and the accountability of authorities to the community.
